It's 866, and the arrival of the British pagan army to explain the connection between the Vikings and the Anglo-Saxons. By establishing Danish rule in Jorvik and East Anglia, the program focuses on the struggle of the Wessex Empire against Viking intervention in southern England. Uhtred takes an oath to avenge Ragnar's death and at the same time hopes to return Bebbanburg to his uncle, who wants to kill Uhtred in order to stay in Bebbanburg.
